Publishing and cancelling events

Overview

Every Tickets Central event moves through a simple lifecycle: Draft → Published → (Cancelled). Only published events are visible on the public event page. Cancelled events are permanently removed from the public listing and cannot be re-published.

Publishing an event

Before you publish, ensure:

• The event has at least one active ticket tier with a price set.
• The title and start date are correct — these appear on the public page and on confirmation emails sent to attendees.

To publish:

1. Open the event from the Events list.
2. Click Publish event in the top-right corner.
3. Confirm the action in the dialog.

The event status changes from Draft to Published and the public booking URL becomes active immediately.

Viewing the public booking page

After publishing, click View event page (or copy the public URL from the event detail page) to see what attendees will see when they visit the booking link.

Cancelling an event

Cancelling permanently closes the event to new bookings and marks all future availability as zero. Existing ticket holders are not automatically notified — you should contact them separately.

To cancel:

1. Open the event from the Events list.
2. Click the Cancel event button (shown below the event summary).
3. Confirm the action in the dialog.

The event moves to the Cancelled tab on the Events list. The action cannot be undone.

Edge cases / gotchas

• Re-publishing a cancelled event is not supported. If an event is cancelled in error, create a new event and re-issue tickets manually if needed.
• Existing tickets are not voided on cancellation. Attendees who purchased tickets before cancellation retain their ticket records. You will need to process any refunds manually.
• Draft events can be edited freely. Once an event is published, changes to the title, date, or location will affect attendees who have already purchased — consider emailing them if you make significant updates.
