Posting announcements

How to compose and send a club announcement to all members, a specific team, or a specific membership type, and what the recipient experience looks like.

Overview

Announcements are broadcast messages you send to active members of your club. Each announcement is emailed immediately on posting — there is no draft or scheduled-send mode. Use announcements for club-wide news, team notices, or membership-type-specific messages.

For real-time, threaded conversation within a team, use the Message Board instead.

Composing an announcement

  1. Go to Announcements in the sidebar.
  2. Click New announcement.
  3. Fill in the form:
Field Notes
Subject The email subject line and announcement title.
Body Rich-text content. Supports headings, bold, italic, links, and bullet lists.
Audience Who receives the announcement — see below.
  1. Click Post announcement.

The announcement is saved and emails are dispatched immediately to all eligible recipients who have an email address on file. The total recipient count is recorded and shown on the announcement detail page.

Audience options

Option Who receives it
All members Every active club member with an email address.
By team All active members on the selected team's roster.
By membership type All active members on the selected membership type.

Only members with active status receive announcements. Pending, expired, suspended, and rejected members are excluded regardless of audience setting.

What members receive

Each recipient gets an individual email with the announcement subject and body. The email is sent from your club's configured reply-to address (set in Club Settings → Profile → Email). Members can reply directly to that address.

Announcements also appear in the Announcements section of the member portal so members can reference them later.

Viewing past announcements

All posted announcements are listed in Announcements, ordered newest first. Click any row to view the full content and recipient count.

Edge cases / gotchas

  • No drafts or scheduling. Announcements are live the moment you click Post. There is no way to recall or unsend an email already dispatched. Review your content carefully before posting.
  • No edit or delete after posting. Once posted, an announcement cannot be edited or deleted from the admin panel. If you need to correct a message, post a follow-up announcement.
  • Members without an email address are skipped. The system attempts delivery only for members with a non-blank email. The recipient count reflects the number of emails dispatched, not the total audience size.
  • Team announcements vs Message Board. An announcement sent to a team emails the roster but is not threaded or interactive. The Message Board supports replies and is better for ongoing team conversations.
