Writing and publishing articles

Create news articles for your league, format them with the editor, and move them through draft, published, and archived.

Overview

Articles are the news posts for your league — match reports, announcements, roundups. You write them in your own content workspace and publish them to your league's public page (and optionally your website's content API). There's no approval queue: when you publish, it's live.

Open the workspace from Content in the league sidebar. You land on the Articles list, with Pages, Media, Categories, and API key alongside it.

Writing an article

  1. From the Articles list, click New article.
  2. Enter a Title. A URL slug is generated from it automatically — you don't set one.
  3. Optionally pick a Category to group the article.
  4. Write the Body in the editor. Use the toolbar for headings, bold, lists, and links.
  5. To add an image, expand Insert image from media library — see uploading and inserting media.
  6. Set the Channels the article should reach — see choosing publishing channels.
  7. Click Create article.

A new article starts as a draft — saved but not visible to anyone outside your workspace.

Publishing and the article lifecycle

Open an article to see its status and the actions available:

Action What it does
Publish Makes the article live on its selected channels immediately.
Unpublish Returns a published article to draft; it disappears from public view.
Archive Retires an article you no longer want listed, without deleting it.
Set as featured Marks a published article as the highlighted one (one featured item per league).
Delete Removes the article from your library and public page.

Featuring is exclusive: setting a new featured article clears the previous one, so your feed always has at most one highlight.

Filtering the list

The Articles list has All / Draft / Published / Archived tabs and a category filter, so you can find work in progress or review what's currently live.

Edge cases / gotchas

  • Draft by default. Nothing is public until you click Publish — write freely.
  • Only published articles can be featured. Set as featured appears once an article is live.
  • Taken down by StatsCentral? If staff remove an article for a policy reason, you'll see a banner with the reason on the article, and you can't re-publish it until it's restored. Contact support if you think it was a mistake.
  • Deleting is not archiving. Archive keeps the article for later; delete removes it. Use archive when in doubt.
